SERIOUS RUNNERS

This is still your race, while everyone is having fun around you, you can still focus on your 5K PR. Plan on a well marked fast and flat course with professional no touch chip timing, a race shirt, runner cards signature finish line results, and fabulous prizes for top finishers of each division.

A TRUE FUN RUN!

Creative Categories:
In it for the fun of it and want to earn a fabulous prize? Feel free to dress the part see the Creative Categories tab for details. More of a serious runner,

HOPstacle Raffle Prizes:
When you complete one of the 5K HOPstacles (obstacles) along the route it may cost you a little time, however, we will hand something small to carry to the finish line to reedem for a raffle ticket

HOPstacles (optional obstacles along the 5K route)

Lumber Yard: plan on a balance beam then hoping over some lumber spaced out on the lawn in the park

Over-Under Land: at Nibley Gardens plan on going both over and under some wood beams

The Great WALL: while running sometimes you hit a wall, this time you will have a chance to get over it, featuring a 4′ wall for kids and a 6′ wall for the rest. Feel free to work cooperatively if needed to get over it. You will find the wall at Nibley Gardens.

Pylon Party: its all about weaving through orange endzone pylons (in front of Heritage Elementary

Rail Fence Farm: at a small park near Morgan farm you will traverse an 8′ section of 6′ tall 2×6’s that run horizontal. Doesnt’ make sense yet, it will when you see it, just don’t touch the ground since you will have to start over if you do.

Disease transmission mitigation plan

Hand Off Check In/Packet Pick Up:
Pre-registered runners simply pick up the race packet (shirt, race bib and FREEbies) with their name on it from the check in table. Several lines divided by sections of the alphabet by last name speed up the packet pick up and have significantly reduced the possibility of long lines.

Day of Registration:
We will re-open the online registration at 1am online the day of the race.  Day of registration runners can simply register and pay by credit card at home or in person with your mobile device. When you arrive to the pavilion simply go to the DAY OF registration table to pick up your Race Packet (race bib and shirt).

Race Timing & Course:
Runner cards chip timing (integrated in the race bib) takes care of getting your finish time and finish placement, with no need for a sweaty tear off bib tag, as long as you cross the designated finish line.

Hand Off Finisher Bag:
When runners finish they simbly pick up a prepared finisher bag at the finish table located at the end of the finisher chute with lots of great post race goodies

Masks (are NOT required)/ Opt Out Illness:
Event participants & spectators with concerns about disease transmission are welcome to wear a mask as appropriate and those experiencing any illness are encouraged to stay home. We work with registered runners to defer their registration for any reason.

Awards and Prize Drawing:
Will be announced in person over a PA system and are outside.

Thank you to everyone including runners, volunteers, and race staff for facilitating this event by following the plan outlined above and signage posted.

Exclusive 5K Creative Categories:

Not sure you can win your age bracket? NOW is your chance to earn a prize and well deserved recognition.

Best Finish-line Bunny Hop Performance: The best hop, skip, and jump just prior to the finish line will win a prize. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Extra style points will be given for spins, cartwheels, dance moves, and smiles. IDEAS

Funnest Pair: cross the finish line hand in hand with someone ideally that you already know (don’t be creepy) for your chance to win a special prize. Consider your fishline approach does it include waltzing, skipping, leaping, pirouettes, a disco move, or a moon walk? Are you both wearing a smile, matching outfits, or a costume? Anonymous judges will evaluate both style & form.

Stroller Racer: So you have a little one that has changed your life, but you still want to stay fit and enjoy some quality time with them. Most of the course is on a hard surface with a few patches of grass to negotiate, our course is smooth and relatively flat too. What about the 5K HOPstacles (obstacles)? Obstacle attendants and possibly fellow runners will help. Remember that the obstacles are optional and you could simply run right past them if you choose.

Canine Runner: Top dog finishers with their owner (on leash) will earn a prize. The dog must be a living breathing dog that walks/runs on their own paws, (sorry no stuffed animals). What about the 5K Obstacles? Obstacle attendants and possibly fellow runners will help. Also the obstacles are optional and you could simply run right past them.
