Kay Sweeten

Kay and her family moved to Nibley in 2004 when her husband, Thayne, accepted a job offer at USU. They have loved raising their 5 children in Nibley and have shown up for countless soccer games, fun runs, movies in the park, Miss Nibley Pageants, Holiday Openhouses, BOOnanzas, Easter Egg runs and searches, Heritage Days, Live Nativities at Morgan Farm and Nibley Children’s Theater productions. With all that Nibley has done to support her family, it feels a great honor to serve Nibley on the city council.

Kay holds a BA from USU in Organizational Communications with minors in business, Korean, and music. She has taught piano for over 36 years. She served on the School Community Council at both Nibley Elementary and Ridgeline High School for a combined 8 years, hosted caucus nights and assisted with voter registration for public elections, and lobbied the Utah State legislature successfully. She looks forward to meeting with and serving the people of Nibley.
