Softball has the following levels: Ponytail for grades 1st – 2nd (coach pitch), and fast-pitch divisions: 3rd – 4th Grade, 5th- 6th Grade, and 7th – 9th Grade. New this year: Intramural High School Coed Softball League (9th – 12th Grade)
Baseball
Baseball has the following levels: Rookie for grades 1st – 2nd (machine pitch), Minors for grades 3rd – 4th, Majors for grades 5th – 6th, and Pony for grades 7th – 8th.
*Playing up a division and 6 year olds options: players interested in playing up a division must get prior approval from the Recreation Director or Recreation Coordinator and complete a Play Up Request Form. However, mature 6 year olds that have already played T-ball may register for the Ponytail or Rookie divisions (rather than Classic T-ball) if they are athletically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually a good fit for the next league up.
T-Ball
Classic T-ball is available for ages: 5-6* and is designed to teach the fundamental skills of Baseball/Softball in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The 5-6 year old Classic T-ball division includes a 25 min. outdoor instruction/practice with the players own team, prior to a 25 min. outdoor T-ball game where everyone on the team gets to bat before the inning changes. These practices and games are held on Tue and Thur evenings.
SUPER START T-ball: is available for ages 3-4 (age as of April 12 2023). The program follows an award winning format where smaller “Team” groups rotate through a series of skill stations inside the gym of a local elementary school where they will learn fundamental skills and the basic rules of the game. Parents are encouraged to support the SUPER STARt team by helping their child participate and enjoy a fun learning environment. Rotation through these skill building stations is timed to match the attention span of young players and builds to an outside T-ball experience at the end of the program for the final session (weather permitting). Games: for outdoor programs will games begin between mid-May and, depending on the league will to until the middle to the end of June. Some of the older leagues include end of season tournaments typically early July, however, we always avoid the 4th of July weekend.
Practice Schedule: is established by the team coach(s).
Team Formation: We want to make the season fun for all participants. To make it fun, games need to be competitive. To make games competitive, teams need to have a balance of skill level. Teams will be created by Nibley City staff. Players will be divided by skill level, pitching, catching, and other factors including player skill ratings from previous seasons will be considered by the recreation staff in creating team rosters.
Buddy/Coach Requests: Requests for coaches and teammates will be honored as much as possible, but are not guaranteed. Buddy requests are most likely to be honored if both players request to play with each other. (i.e. Brayden requests Cameront and Cameron requests Brayden.) Major & Pony Leagues do not allow buddy requests.
Refunds: If the entire season needs to be cancelled by Nibley City Recreation for this program for unforeseen circumstances (including local health restrictions), a full refund will be given to all participants. Partial season cancelations by Nibley City for the same reasons will merit a partial refund. Participant initiated refunds are subject to cancelation fees outlined in the registration terms.
