Nibley City is a thriving community of 6,000, located just south of Logan, Utah and nestled in the mountains of Cache Valley. Since the turn of the century, Nibley has experienced rapid growth, averaging more than 300 new residents per year. Nibley boasts two industrial areas on its western edge along US 89/91 that have recently attracted businesses such as Malouf Fine Linens, WiTricity, Campsaver and Stander.
I was born on an Air Force base in Alaska to an Air Force Family. I grew up all around this country, but home was always back here; my Dad is from Garden City and my Mom is from Pocatello. Growing up like that shaped how I view the world, and gave me a great appreciation for public service and community. I'm excited and humbled to be able to serve you as your Mayor, and I'm looking forward to working with you to make a difference.
I'm the second of 13 children. I've lived in 10 states, Guam, and England. I went to BYU where I earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering, and more importantly, met Lesli. We've been married since 1995. In 1998 we moved to Idaho where I worked as a consulting engineer and became licensed as a Professional Engineer. In 2003, we took a job in California, but the pull was too strong and in 2006 we came to Cache Valley to complete a Ph.D. in Bioenergy from USU and this is where we plan to stay. In 2007, I ran for City Council and served from 2008-2012.
We've loved living in Nibley and raising our 6 kids (Jake, Hannah, Layla, Lincoln, Luke, and Asher) here. I've also loved serving as a Scout leader in the community. There are some outstanding young people in this City, and I'm proud to have been associated with them.
As your Mayor, I'm focused on representing the interests of the people of this community, and keeping Nibley great. I'll take the experience and I'll do my best.

I am trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. As a leader and steward I use my gifts, blessings, resources, and talents to provide opportunities to others. I seek to humbly recognize and accept truth and goodness.
Nibley Public Works Director Justin Maughan was honored Water Operator of the year by the Utah Rural Water Association. Maughan was nominated for the award by fellow Cache Valley public works directors for his handling of the city's water contamination event last year.

By clicking on the following link you will be able to see when these facilities are available and make reservations all online. For items such as to pick up a key and to pay for a cleaning deposits, you will still need to come into the office the business day before your event. Small Gathering = Small family party/gathering with less than 50 people, wedding ceremony without a reception or food, recurring private business meetings.
Large Gathering = Large family party (over 50 people with or without food), wedding reception, business or club dinner, trade show, craft fair, etc.
Business, Club, or Public Meetings = City-sponsored events or meetings. Non-recurring business meetings. Club or other meetings that are open to the public and provide a public benefit (as determined by management), including cultural, charitable, civic or educational meetings or events.
If the renter desires to use the audio/visual equipment, a $25 fee and an extra $200 deposit will be required. It will be returned once the equipment is deemed free of any damage.
Fees are due at the time a reservation is made.
The deposit is due when the keys are picked up and shall be cash only, unless paid online.
A cleaning charge of $20/hour will be assessed if cleanup by city staff is necessary. Cleaning charges will be assessed in one hour increments.
The following will be available for use when reserving the building:
o 10 round tables ($225 replacement fee)
o 80 chairs ($200 replacement fee)
o 15 Linen tablecloths (12 round - $10 replacement fee, 3 Square - $25 replacement fee)
o Dish cloths/towels
o Cleaning Supplies
o Trash can liners
o Assorted serving utensils
o With the exception of the cleaning supplies and trash can liners, all of the above must be returned to the City washed, and in good condition, prior to receiving a deposit refund.

Nibley City's Planning Department is responsible for short-range planning, long-range planning, code development, code enforcement, building inspections and plan reviews, and assisting Nibley City residents and other organizations with any land use questions or plans.

Planning Commission meetings are normally held the first and third Thursdays of each month at 6:00 p.m. The meeting schedule may be found at the link below. All application must be submitted at least two weeks before a scheduled meeting and must be in compliance with Nibley City Code in order to be placed on the agenda.

What are impact fees?
Impact fees are one-time charges imposed by local governments to mitigate the impact new development has on local infrastructure. Residential and business growth requires the City to expand or enlarge our public facilities to maintain the level and quality of service we provide through our water, sewer, parks and road systems. New growth pays for that expansion and enlargement so that all residents can benefit from our facilities and services.
When does Nibley City charge impact fees?
Nibley City charges impact fees upon issuance of a building permit for new residential, commercial or industrial construction. Impact fees are not charged for remodels, accessory buildings or additions, unless the addition is large enough to necessitate changing the size of the water meter.
