The following are the preliminary election results for the Nibley City Primary Election held on August 15, 2017. Final election results will be certified by the City Council on August 24th after absentee ballot processing is complete. Absentee ballots may still be counted if postmarked by August 14 and received by noon on August 24.
254 of 2,847 registered voters cast their ballots in the primary election (including 22 absentee ballots) for a total voter turnout of 9%. There were five provisional ballots, three of which have now been counted. Two provisional ballots were not counted due to being rejected by the Cache County Clerk because those two voters were not registered to vote.
Five candidates were running for two City Council seats. A primary election was held to narrow the field of candidates from five to four candidates prior to the November 7 General Election.
There are only two candidates running for mayor, therefore a primary election was not held for the mayoral race.
